247 - The National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) is holding a seminar this Friday (11), at the institution's headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. "BNDES Forests of Brazil across the globe"which aims to discuss the strategic role of the forestry economy in the country's sustainable development. According to information from BNDES itself, released by its press office, the event also marks the launch of BNDES Forests platformwhich will bring together and provide transparency to the Bank's actions in the sector.
Since 2023, BNDES has already mobilized more than R$ 3,4 billion in forest restoration initiatives, reinforcing its role as one of the main agents promoting the green economy in Brazil. Friday's agenda celebrates the progress achieved and seeks to broaden the dialogue between the public sector, the productive sector, and investors interested in sustainable models for forest use and conservation.
Those participating in the meeting are President of BNDES, Aloizio Mercadante, Tereza Campello, Socio-environmental Director of the Bank, Director of Planning and Institutional Relations, Nelson BarbosaAnd Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, João Paulo Capobiancoas well as representatives from companies and financial institutions linked to environmental issues.
