Temer is giving away a barrel of oil to foreigners for less than a small bottle of mineral water.
The scientific and development communities denounce that interim president Michel Temer (PMDB) is giving away Brazilian oil from the Carcará reserve, located in ultra-deep waters of the Santos Basin, to foreign capital for the paltry sum of two dollars (R$ 6,28) per barrel. This is less than the price of a small bottle of mineral water sold for R$ 8 during the Rio Olympics.

Less than the price of a small bottle of mineral water sold for R$ 8 during the Rio Olympics.
At yesterday's lowest price (11), the barrel cost US$ 45 or the equivalent of R$ 141.
Professor Ildo Sauer, from USP (University of São Paulo), wrote in a plea for help that he is extremely distressed by the vile process underway to hand over Carcará.
“I recall that, during the capitalization, the barrel was valued between 8 and 11 dollars. Now they are selling between 700 million and 1,3 billion barrels for 2 billion dollars, 2 dollars per barrel. It's not just about this absurdity. It's about the principles and values of conduct,” the academic repudiated.
Temer's privatization frenzy could cause losses of up to R$ 40 billion to Brazilians in Carcará alone.
Senator Roberto Requião (PMDB-PR) got involved to denounce this crime against the country.
"Delivering Carcará at $2 per barrel. Help, spread the word. It's no longer about overturning impeachment. It's about saving Brazil," the congressman pleaded.
