Tarcísio is acting to be anointed as the Bolsonaro candidate.

Tarcísio attacks the Supreme Court's historic work in judging the coup plotters and "demands" amnesty as the only way to "pacify the country."

This Monday, September 29th, Governor Tarcísio had an official agenda in Brasília. Like him, the other governors of the country were invited to the inauguration ceremony of Minister Edson Fachin as president of the Supreme Court.

More than a mere solemn rite, Fachin's inauguration had a greater significance: symbolizing the affirmation of Brazilian justice at a time when our economy and the Supreme Court are being targeted by attacks from the Trump administration orchestrated by Bolsonaro supporters who are undermining national sovereignty from the US in association with foreign agents.

All governors were either personally present or represented by their deputies at the event at the Supreme Federal Court – except, however, Army Captain Tarcísio de Freitas, governor of the state that represents 21% of the population and 31% of the national GDP.

Tarcísio's "official mission" in Brasília, paid for with public funds, was a visit of support and solidarity to the leader of the criminal organization recently sentenced by the Supreme Federal Court to 27 years and 3 months in prison.

The convicted individual in question, Jair Bolsonaro, committed the far from trivial crime of attempted coup d'état, in addition to others for which he awaits trial.

If Brazilian legislation were as strict as the laws of Germany, Argentina, Canada, France, and the United Kingdom, Bolsonaro and his civilian and military cronies would be sentenced to life imprisonment. Depending on the aggravating circumstances, they could even be sentenced to death.

Despite the abundance of evidence produced by the criminals themselves, Tarcísio maintains that there was nothing illegal in the actions of the criminal organization that planned, among other things, the assassination of Lula, Alckmin, and Alexandre de Moraes as part of a plan to violently seize power.

True to Bolsonaro's extremism, Tarcísio attacks the Supreme Court's historic work in judging the coup plotters and "demands" amnesty as the only way to "pacify the country."

Radicalized like Eduardo Bolsonaro, upon leaving the nearly three-hour meeting with the gangster-in-chief and two of his sons, Tarcísio told the press that he does not even accept the proposal of amnesty disguised as sentencing guidelines.

Tarcísio's message with this visit to the convicted criminal at the exact moment of the Supreme Court ceremony is clear: between democracy and a coup, he sides with the coup plotters.

With his gesture, Tarcísio gains valuable points to be anointed by the gangster clan as the extremist candidate in 2026, with the support of the right wing, Faria Lima (a wealthy financial district in São Paulo), rentiers, agribusiness, the military elite, the lumpenbourgeoisie, and significant sectors of the mainstream media.

The announcement of his candidacy for re-election as governor of São Paulo is a smokescreen that serves only to distract attention, protect him from the wear and tear inherent in an early candidacy, and also to maintain Bolsonaro's increasingly declining power of influence on the 2026 political landscape.
