Only fanatics chain themselves to a chair.

Politicians: get rid of the Bolsonaro supporters.

Senator Magno Malta has chained himself to the Senate presidency chair. He says he won't leave until the impeachment of Alexandre de Moraes is voted on. No surprise. People of his ilk always resort to blackmail. With his infamous attitude, he is violently obstructing the work of Parliament in a manner contrary to the rules. He risks being prosecuted. Then he'll say he's being persecuted.

The chained senator is yet another living proof of what Bolsonaro supporters are and what they intend. They don't form a political movement, but rather a religious sect that has infiltrated various parties with the goal of undermining democracy from within.

Like the fanatics of Canudos, they are anti-republican and anti-constitution. Their constitution is the bible. They are not interested in coming to power to govern within democratic precepts. They want to destroy them (as we are seeing today) with the clear objective of implanting a theocracy. A dictatorship more lasting and more cruel than the military one. It is no coincidence that the second leader of the sect, after Bolsonaro, is Pastor Silas Malafaia.

There is nothing to be done with fanatics like Magno Malta except to prosecute and punish them within the bounds of the law.

It's yet another attack on democracy. But it doesn't even tickle it, because it's harmless.

This is yet another warning to democratic politicians: distance yourselves from Bolsonaro supporters while there's still time.
