Over the past decade, Chinese-style modernization has achieved historic successes. China, with one of the world's strongest economies, has increased its share of the global economy to 18,5%. The country is a major trading partner of more than 140 countries and territories, is among the world leaders in attracting and receiving foreign investment, and is a driving force behind global economic recovery. It has also eradicated the historical problem of absolute poverty within its borders and built some of the largest education, social security, and healthcare systems on the planet. All of this makes a significant contribution to poverty reduction and sustainable development globally.

The facts prove that China has blazed a trail of modernization for a populous country in pursuit of common prosperity, harmony between humanity and nature, and peaceful development, providing new inspiration for solving humanity's common problems. Given the new international context and internal and external challenges, what direction will China's modernization take? What will its impacts be on the world? The answers can be found in the recently concluded 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

First and foremost, China is firmly pursuing the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics and is committed to completing the process of socialist modernization by 2035, and becoming a prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmonious, and beautiful power by the middle of the 21st century.

A second point is that China's main priority is high-quality development, that is, it seeks a balance between effective qualitative improvement and a reasonable quantitative increase, following the new concept based on the parameters of innovation, coordination, sustainability, openness, and sharing.

Third, China's modernization will be fundamentally and strategically supported by education, science and technology, and human resources. The country plans to be a global hub for talent and innovation, bringing new impetus and advantage to national development.

Fourth, China's opening to the outside world will reach a new level. To this end, it will promote institutional openness in rules, regulations, management, and standards, advocate for diversification and stability in the international economic environment and trade relations, and create new opportunities for the world through its own growth.

Finally, true to a foreign policy promoting world peace and common development, China fosters a community with a shared future for all mankind and the implementation of the Global Development and Global Security Initiatives in response to global challenges.

The guidelines and action program outlined at the 20th Party Congress herald a new cycle of more robust and higher-quality growth, reflecting China's role in global human development. China has always considered Brazil an important global strategic partner. A China with well-defined objectives, continuous growth, and a promising future will certainly bring more opportunities and greater scope for Sino-Brazilian cooperation. This higher-quality, broader-scope, and more dynamic bilateral cooperation will be conducive to our two countries aligning development strategies, unlocking complementary advantages, addressing common challenges, and achieving rapid development.
