Who does Bolsonaro want in the 2026 election?
Former president only sees his own family.
Neither Tarcísio, nor Caiado, nor Zema. Someone from within the party, with Bolsonaro as their last name. That's the conclusion reached by the president of one of the most important parties after Jair Bolsonaro's latest interview with CNN. Regarding all the main names on the right, Bolsonaro downplayed their maturity, pointed to their supposed regionalized political experience, and the appeal of their names to the right-wing electorate. The only one who received praise was his ally Ratinho Junior, governor of Paraná: "he could be a name."
But the former president's enthusiasm truly emerged when speaking about his sons. He assessed both Senator Flávio Bolsonaro and Congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro as mature and promising candidates. His wife, Michelle, was presented as someone with the popularity and capacity to become head of state, but... only if Bolsonaro becomes Chief of Staff.
