Anything to depose the tyrant.

"Brazilian society can no longer live in a climate of unrest, under the explicit threat and permanent blackmail of the president," writes lawyer Marcelo Uchoa. "Impeachment now; removal for common crime now; annulment of the ticket now; disqualification now; anything now to remove the tyrant."

On the morning of May 28th, Brazil was awakened by the acidic verbiage of the son of the President of the Republic, Eduardo Bolsonaro: "When it gets to a point where the president has no other option and a drastic measure is necessary, he will be labeled a dictator."Hours later, the father himself would come forward to release a "That's it, damn it!" Loud and clear. The reason for so much discontent is the tightening of the net in the Supreme Federal Court's investigation into the dissemination of fake news, hate messages, and threats against members of the Court. A day earlier, Minister Alexandre de Moraes had ordered the search and seizure of laptops, smartphones, and similar equipment at the addresses of numerous suspects accused of financing, producing, and disseminating the illicit content, all supporters of the Head of the National Executive.

The fear is that the deepening of the investigations will reach the hard core of the "Hate Cabinet," a structure, according to rumors, established within the Presidential Palace, financed in part with public money, and allegedly led by another of the president's sons, councilman Carlos Bolsonaro, responsible for the strategies of disseminating incendiary and defamatory messages.

The President of the Republic of Brazil is not a serious man; from the first day of his administration, he has behaved like an irresponsible buffoon in the highest office of the country. He demonstrates a lack of preparedness to handle the difficult tasks of government, being more interested in finding ways to remain in power at any cost than in devising solutions to the serious economic, social, and political problems afflicting the nation. The one who should be the supreme leader of hundreds of millions of people is a systematic violator of legality and decorum, and it is no coincidence that he faces numerous accusations of committing crimes of responsibility and common crimes. The occupant of the most coveted palace in Brazil is incapable of restraining himself in disputes with his own support base; his psychotic vanity is enough to fuel discord.

The electoral court could have gone further in analyzing the serious indications of irregularities raised during the 2018 presidential election and challenged his ticket during the campaign. Since then, the succession of improprieties only corroborates the conclusion that a very serious error of omission was committed, although, under the circumstances, it can still be partially remedied. Brazil's economy is in ruins, the nation is engulfed in a state of health calamity with thousands suffering, and the country's credibility abroad no longer exists. There is not even self-esteem left in the Brazilian soul. However, there is a spark of democracy that allows us to dream of a future for this and future generations, and for which it is worth fighting. Many gave their lives so that a text like this could be written. Many lost their youth to allow a Constitution like that of 1988 to be promulgated. It would be dishonest to these people, or to anyone else, and would also be unfaithful to the history of perseverance of Brazilians, to allow despotism to advance.

Brazilian society can no longer live in a climate of unrest, under the explicit threat and constant blackmail of the president. If the other branches of government and institutions of the Republic do not act vehemently in the face of the undeniable authoritarian escalation, there will no longer be room for peaceful coexistence in Brazil; it will be a matter of counting the weeks, perhaps the days, to say goodbye to the resilient spark of democracy. Impeachment now; removal for common crime now; annulment of the ticket now; disqualification now; anything now to remove the tyrant.
