PT and PCdoB make progress on agreement for presidential race.
If the PT (Workers' Party) offered Manuela the vice-presidential candidacy alongside Lula, the deal would already be sealed.
The PT leadership is confident that it will finalize a coalition with the PCdoB in the coming days for the national presidential ticket. Talks with the communists have progressed well in recent days, according to two PT strategists involved in this process interviewed by the blog.
On the other hand, an agreement with the PSB cooled down. This cooling of relations even led the PSB's state directorate in Amapá, which had contested the recent state election in coalition with the PT, to exclude the party from its ticket.
In negotiations with the PCdoB, the name of a potential vice-presidential candidate is not yet under discussion. The blog also learned that this is causing embarrassment within the PCdoB, as the candidacy of state representative and pre-candidate for president from the party, Manuela D'Ávila, has energized the party's base, and today, a large majority of the membership prefers to support her until the end.
If the PT (Workers' Party) offered Manuela the vice-presidential nomination to Lula, the deal would already be sealed.
