Lula's inauguration, like his government, will have the people as the protagonist.

Joy will take over. Lula will ascend the ramp of the Planalto Palace and don the presidential sash, but it will be the people who take the reins of the country. Lula is the people. The people are Lula.

The grand popular celebration, which will take place on January 1st and will officially confirm Lula as the president-elect of Brazil, is already underway. The event's organization is headed by the future first lady, Janja, and also counts on the collaboration of activists and civil society movements. And, just as it was during the PT governments, the celebration will feature the people, who have always walked hand in hand with Lula.

It will be a celebration of unparalleled magnitude and unforgettable, according to the organizers. Caravans are already being organized throughout Brazil. Media outlets are reporting at least 300 people in attendance, coming from all corners of the country. A great celebration of the people, for the people, reflecting the spirit of the people.

In addition to the official ceremony, which includes the passing of the presidential sash and the ascent of the ramp at the Planalto Palace, the organizing team is also preparing musical performances with progressive artists who, during the election campaign, stood by Lula, whether in the streets or on social media. Names like Margareth Menezes, Maria Rita, and Gilsons are already confirmed. The expectation is that other big names in Brazilian music, such as Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso, will also participate in the popular celebration.

For the concerts, two stages will be set up on the Esplanade of Ministries and will be named after two singers who recently passed away but left a great legacy for Brazilian popular music. One will be named after Gal Costa and the other after Elza Soares. The space will also include a food court, first aid station, and other services, all designed to make the public feel welcome and valued.

In addition to all this, to ensure that everything goes smoothly, a large security operation—both for President Lula and the general public—is also being put in place.

It is still unknown who will pass the presidential sash to Lula, whether it will be Dilma, a child, an indigenous person, or an ordinary citizen. What is known is that Lula will be sworn in. The defeated candidate—who now cries in public appearances—has already stated that it will not be him and that he doesn't mind breaking with tradition. But that hardly matters. The truth is that this is the least of the issues. Whoever truly matters will be receiving the sash, under the watchful gaze of hundreds of thousands of Brazilians who will witness this historic moment with hearts pounding with hope.

On January 1st, 2023, joy will take over. Lula will ascend the ramp of the Planalto Palace and don the presidential sash, but it will be the people who take the reins of the country. Lula is the people. The people are Lula.

I go!

And you?
