For a ceasefire and peace, against the war provoked by the US and NATO!
The call for a ceasefire and peace is legitimate. The prerequisite is the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine, writes international editor José Reinaldo.
José Reinaldo Carvalho, 247 - The week ending today (Saturday, 26th) was a week of war, sanctions, and diplomacy. More war and sanctions than diplomacy. We have reached a point of no return where Russian troops are inside the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. It is not yet clear what the immediate unfolding of the situation will be, whether the resistance of Zelensky's puppet government will intensify or whether the government will capitulate considering the disparity of forces with Russia.
The Western powers, led by US imperialism and NATO, have not only provoked the most serious situation of insecurity and threats to world peace since the end of the Cold War, but are also further fueling the war, provoking Russia, attempting to corner it, strangle it with severe economic sanctions, and encircle the country militarily.
The deployment of intra-NATO soldiers and weapons toward the borders with Russia is unprecedented in recent years. Biden has solemnly stated in his recent pronouncements that he will not order his soldiers to engage in combat with the Russians, but he is at the forefront of the mobilization of NATO troops throughout Eastern Europe. He commands the proxy war effort waged through Ukraine.
Long before Russia recognized the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, the Eurasian country pursued the path of diplomacy. This began with President Putin's historic Urbi et Orbi interview on December 23rd, when he outlined Moscow's red lines. At that time, the diplomatic route was the only one pursued by the Kremlin. Those who follow reliable and honest news sources... Brazil 247, is aware of how events are unfolding.
US/NATO “diplomacy” completely disregarded Russian demands. Subsequently, the militarized and pro-Nazi government of comedian Zelensky undertook a brutal and criminal offensive against the Russian populations of Donbass, continuing repressive actions initiated since the Maidan Square coup in 2014. Effectively, the war in Ukraine began then. “We always pursued dialogue, but the doors were closed,” said the competent Russian diplomat Maria Zaharova, warning that the “point of no return” was near. Such statements reiterate the successive warnings of Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the Kremlin chief himself. Retaining this information is essential to understanding the irrefutable reality that this war was provoked and orchestrated in the White House, the Pentagon, and Brussels, NATO headquarters.
Given the fait accompli, the call for negotiations, a ceasefire, and peace is legitimate. This presupposes the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine, the dismantling of the fascist militias entrenched in the Azov Battalion, and the country's assumption of neutrality, which will not be possible with Zelensky remaining in power. The cause of peace depends on the quickest possible resolution to the dramatic situation created in Ukraine by NATO's imperialist forces.
We are ardent defenders of peace and the peaceful, diplomatic, and political resolution of international conflicts. Therefore, when commenting on the political and military tensions in Eastern Europe, we take as our starting point the strong condemnation of the brutal offensive by the United States and NATO against Russia.
