Marina wave reinvigorates the "enthusiasm" of PT members (and allies)

The Marina wave may have finally served to awaken the animalistic side and the spirit of the government supporters and the PT militants – who, let's face it, were, let's say, somewhat "unmotivated," clinging to the "we've already won" mentality.

If you felt somewhat "uncomfortable" with the use of the term "horny" in the title of this text, relax. Just get the children, the naive, and the most innocent out of the room. There's nothing new in importing this term from vulgar language into the debate.

I wasn't even the first to bring this word into the current election campaign. "Tesão" (lust/arousal) is already allowed. "Tesão," or rather, the lack thereof, is also a topic on the political agenda and has been on everyone's lips for a long time.

The PMDB candidate for governor of São Paulo, Paulo Skaf, recently said in his campaign ad that Governor Geraldo Alckmin (of the PSDB) lacked the "passion" to govern. And who can contradict him? Who can challenge him?!

Sepulchral silence.

Not a single soul returned from the dead to defend the São Paulo governor, a candidate for re-election. Or even to criticize the supposed "imposture" of the other side. And, however incredible it may seem, despite the water shortage in São Paulo, the lack of decent public transportation, the lack of minimum quality education in public schools, the lack of security and management, the hypocrisy and shamelessness of the "cartel members" involved in the "train scandal," Alckmin, the candidate without "passion," is still, in the present instant of the electoral process, the clear favorite in opinion polls. Is this the fault of the opinion shapers in the São Paulo mainstream press? Or is the fault really with the conservative voters of São Paulo?

Probably, and curiously, the appeal of the "change-oriented" winds, opposed to the political hegemony in power in the country, did not reach the beaches of São Paulo. Yes, it may not seem like it, but there are also beaches, oligarchies, and political hegemonies in the state of São Paulo.

There is also, certainly, a noteworthy lack of "passion".

Roberto Freire, the psychiatrist/psychoanalyst, not the "advisor to the PSDB party"—the latter a familiar figure, gorging himself on crumbs at the Aracaju bakery in the elegant Higienópolis neighborhood of São Paulo, where the most prominent PSDB members reside—I'm talking about another Roberto Freire, a Paulista who is anything but prudish, unlike the other, who is from Pernambuco but a Paulista by recent adoption/adoption; I'm talking about the libertarian and libertine psychiatrist and writer, father of the heterodox/controversial "Somatherapy" in Brazil, who said, if my memory serves me right, back in the 1980s, in an original formulation recorded in his singular essayistic work, which has become immortalized in our customs and traditions: "Without lust, there is no solution."

And who would dare, after so many years, to contradict him?

Therefore, now that we have rid ourselves of this supposed and unjustifiable "purism" or "discomfort," let us move forward with will, with determination, or simply with "passion," to better enjoy, in all its fullness, the ongoing electoral process. To better savor this unique moment in our young democracy. And, of course, if it is young, well... Let there be "willpower"!

Let's then follow the desire that drives us at the moment.

Marina Silva, as everyone must have realized by now, is being swept away by a current of numerous contradictions and inconsistencies, and once again, she is just another "wave" that the conservative middle classes and the oligopolistic mainstream press are striving to "bolster," so that it gains strength and reaches the shore with the force of a "tsunami." Numerous articles and columnists have already exposed this supposed "phenomenon" ad nauseam. Let us therefore pay attention to those who, diligently, are alerting us.

The "trend" [perhaps it would be more appropriate to say, "the trend"] would be to catch this "trend"—pardon the redundancy. Even if it means having the audacity to use, in a Machiavellian way, artifices or resources derived from studies of mass psychology, which, for laypeople, can be translated, in less academic, more popular language, so to speak, into the well-known expressions "herd effect" or "stampede."

Any "wave" is valid.

Anything goes.

It's even acceptable to piggyback on the legitimate public outcry following the tragic death of a politician. A psychologist friend alerted me to this fact, telling me that there is already extensive literature on this topic: popular commotion caused by the loss of influential politicians or celebrities. Since this literature already exists, it didn't take long for shrewd marketers to transform it into a manual or, better said, with apologies for the ironic slip, into a sacred "Bible."

Please respect my Christian faith! And that of many Brazilians. It is not appropriate to mix faith with politics. We know the formula: FAITH + POLITICS = MESSIANISM = AUTHORITARIANISM. Or MESSIANISM – FAITH = POLITICS.

Yes, you already know this basic lesson: the order of these factors can corrupt the product.

The intention, judging by the movements, moves, and "plays," was to make the wave grow in such a way that it would engulf Aécio Neves' candidacy in the first round of the election – thus tacitly electing the PSDB of São Paulo and the conservative petty bourgeoisie of São Paulo, with José Serra (and where Serra is, there is Folha) at the forefront, as guarantors or "faithful custodians" of Marina's candidacy. However, surfing "swells," "dropping" waves of this magnitude, is not a task for amateurs – just ask Mayra Gabeira and Pedro Scooby.

I'm a true fan, no irony or other manipulation intended, just of real surfers, like those mentioned. And long live Gabriel Medina!

But, I am pleased to inform you, although most of the scoundrels and rogues of the "new" old politics, opportunists that they are, intend, from now on, to ride the Marina wave as a mere trick or "free ride" to overthrow the PT from power, it is necessary to recognize that not all "Marina supporters" on their second stint are scoundrels and rogues – but their companions...

There are many good people who go along with the trend, "cheerfully," so to speak. Good, decent, well-intentioned people who have allowed themselves to be misled/deceived by the false consensuses forged by Globo, Veja, and the dumbed-down middle class of large urban centers. The "innocents," always useful for the most diverse purposes, are most likely those whom they clumsily call "dreamers."

Therefore, it is prudent and minimally honest not to confuse the poor vocabulary of some with the poverty of spirit of others.

Hell, as believers and other Christians well know, is full of sinners, but also of pure and well-intentioned souls.

In fact, picking up the thread of this ordinary craft, this Network, in which some innocent "dreamers" are now entangled, in the diligent company of old foxes of national politics, is, for some, nothing more than, as already said (it is never too much to remember), a cunning strategy to remove the PT (and its allies) from central power in Brasília.

The old anti-PT sentiment has decided to masquerade as progressive, part of the "new" politics, in order to finally – their ultimate dream – "get rid of this breed."

However, it seems that this "race" is indeed brave and resilient.

And it doesn't let itself be drowned by ripples or intimidated by the supposed and much-publicized "tsunami"—especially since there's no sign of an earthquake whatsoever.

This "race," it is presumed, will not be ensnared by such a weak network.

He doesn't get carried away by the thunderous and hypnotic noise of the stampeding cattle.

Not so easily or docilely.

For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This is a well-known law of physics.

However... to provide the essential and imponderable support to Physics, Poetry is necessary.

Remember? "Never losing tenderness."

Therefore...

Nobody invented anything; the wheel wasn't discovered; nor, finally, the squaring or curving of the circle—that depends on the version.

There is nothing new in the land of men that causes us strangeness, legitimate excitement, or astonishment – much less enchantment.

Again.

Finally, the Marina wave, as I intended to demonstrate here [QED], and as recent accurate/adjusted research suggests, may have served to finally awaken the animalistic side and the spirit of the government supporters and the PT militants – who were, let's face it, somewhat, shall we say, "unmotivated," based on the "we've already won" mentality; based on the "it's a done deal" mentality.

There is still much to be done ahead on the path to that intangible utopia.

Now that the PT (Workers' Party) militants, as well as those of allied parties, notably my brave and valiant compatriots from the Northeast, have realized and awakened to the fact that there is a real risk of regression; that there is a risk of losing the achievements of the Lula and Dilma governments; that there is a risk of the "rentiers" becoming, once again, the masters of our dreams, I have no doubt that the reaction will come with equal force and intensity.

Candidate Dilma herself seemed to me more determined and confident in these last few days, given that she was, once again, challenged, provoked, and put to the test.

Just imagine, she's the one who overcame arbitrary rule, electric shocks, and the torture rack.

She, of all people, was chosen by Lula for the impossible mission of working towards a new political approach to truly governing for these suffering people – despite and in spite of the scoundrels.

Action and reaction.

I don't know, but I suspect that the real challenge now will be holding back the Workers' Party wave, which I can already see forming and growing on the faint blue line of the horizon.

Anyone who doesn't swim with ease and catch this wave, my friend, will be left adrift in the vastness of the sea.

The time is now.

That's the trend.

That which looms large before you, beyond appearances and deceptions.

Can't you see it yet?
