The world rejects the genocidal US blockade and reaffirms its solidarity with Cuba.

By José Reinaldo Carvalho - For the 33rd consecutive time, the international community, in an act of justice and rebellion, overwhelmingly rejected the criminal economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba. The Resolution, presented by the heroic socialist island, was approved with 165 votes in favor, a true tribute to Cuban resistance and an undeniable repudiation of Washington's hegemonic policy.

This result is a verdict, an indictment that exposes to the world the aggressive and illegal nature of US imperialism, which has once again seen its diplomatic war machine defeated. Despite an abject campaign of pressure, threats, and desperate blackmail to corrupt the will of nations, the empire has failed. Its attempt to strangle Cuba and subdue the world to its will has utterly failed.

Alongside the genocidal regimes of Israel and the United States, the reactionary governments of Argentina, Paraguay, Hungary, Ukraine, and North Macedonia stained their hands with an infamous vote, siding with the executioner against the victim. The cowardly abstentions of some European and Latin American countries, in turn, are nothing more than a feeble attempt to evade their historical responsibility for a crime against humanity.

The world witnessed a diplomatic, political, and moral victory of profound historical significance at the UN General Assembly. It is living proof that imperialist arrogance can be, and will be, confronted and defeated. Cuban diplomacy, with unwavering dignity, unmasked Washington's dirty maneuvers, revealing to the world the attempts at blackmail mobilized to subvert the will of the people. The overwhelming victory is, therefore, an act of repudiation by the global majority of imperialism.

The Cuban people, in their boundless capacity for resistance, creativity, and unity, celebrate this achievement as a triumph of their Revolution. Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez rightly emphasized that this is a victory for national sovereignty, perseverance, and the revolutionary optimism that defines Cuba's culture of struggle.

This victory strengthens the global fight against US impunity, both politically and legally. It signals the progressive end of the era in which Washington could apply unilateral sanctions like weapons of mass destruction without facing consequences. It reaffirms, with renewed force, that the nations of the Global South and all those who fight for a just international order will not bow down. The principle is clear: no country will be punished for daring to exercise its sacred right to self-determination.

International solidarity with Cuba echoes like a cry for independence. The overwhelming majority of nations have affirmed, in one voice, that the United States is irremediably isolated. Its cruel and anachronistic blockade is an enemy of all humanity. And in the face of this worldwide chorus of support, Cuba not only resists. Cuba advances, fights, and, with the certainty that only defenders of just causes possess, will win. The defeat of the empire is inevitable; the victory of Cuba, certain.
