The coup and who's who politically in society and on the internet.
By Davis Sena Filho
I'm really fed up with people who serve the government and those who work in the arts, politics, the press, business, the middle class, and the State and its various branches of power and control in the three spheres of government.
Furthermore, many of those who spout their treacherous rebellions of convenience and opportune moment, when they realized that they are directly and indirectly complicit in the moral, social, and economic destruction of Brazil, now claim to be fighters against the current fascist and ultraliberal government, but they were part of the coup-plotting ranks against the PT governments and labor movement, some actively and others through their deafening silence.
The stark truth is that a large number of people, men and women, who write and publish on websites and in traditional media, are, in one way or another, individuals who regret having actually contributed to the downfall of the progressive Workers' Party governments.
I know this and I've seen it, like I see a blue sky on a sunny day, free of clouds. Although I like clouds and rain. The truth is that this multitude of people, famous or not so famous, talented or ordinary, were seriously mistaken in one way or another, not because they are evil, opportunistic, or reckless, but because they are fundamentally depoliticized regarding the realities of the decisive events for Brazil, especially at the time when they were complicit in the 2016 coup and Lula's imprisonment in 2018. As I've already said, many of these people only opened their eyes when they saw the moral, economic, sanitary, environmental, and political degradation of the Temer and Bolsonaro governments, which also came to criminally dismantle the national state and hand over public assets to private enterprise.
The problem is that the issue runs much deeper, and not being politically illiterate is a matter of understanding and wisdom, because seeing is not always perceiving, and understanding is often not comprehending. And that's why so many people who colluded in the overthrow of the PT (Workers' Party) now show remorse, like many journalists, businesspeople, politicians, artists, and the general population.
These people considered themselves politically and culturally detached, and now they realize how much a single misstep influences their own lives, including in terms of survival, because as everyone knows, the coup against democracy and the rule of law caused untold social and economic damage, to the point that the next elected president will have to lead a government of national reconstruction, in order to begin the country's recovery in every sense, because at the moment it is in a state of bankruptcy in all sectors of the economy, especially in relation to the domestic economy.
In turn, after the mess was made, I am faced daily with repentant individuals who seem to have recovered their judges and today behave like titans fighting against this entire state of affairs that has been happening in Brazil since 2013, with the coup intensifying in 2025, and Dilma Rousseff being deposed in 2026, just as arbitrariness and opportunism continued with the unjust imprisonment of Lula by a corrupt judge, until Brazilian society hit rock bottom by electing a fascist and denialist president in 2018, whose lamentable nickname is Bozo. He is the worst president and the worst administration of all time in every sense. A true and resounding failure!
Now, here are the repentant and the complicit who flirted with the coup against Dilma, and look what happened. Now they try to mitigate their guilt and responsibility through their images and statements, articles and opinions, in order to distance themselves from or even rid themselves of their terrible political choices, which resulted in the coup d'état, through the infamy and farce called "fiscal irresponsibility," as well as allowing all these "repentant" and complicit people to let an innocent man be unjustly imprisoned by a thieving and corrupt judge so that a fascist denialist could seize central power.
They are all there on Brasil 247 and in countless media outlets, from family-owned and corporate media to websites, blogs, and internet portals, frantically trying to erase the harsh truth of their pre-coup choices and during the totally cowardly, infamous, and unjust imprisonment of Lula, who, even after defeating the judicial and police system from inside prison, still has to endure reckless individuals full of intellectual bad faith and perversity who call him corrupt and a thief, something he never was, never having committed any illegalities, as proven by the Justice system itself, which unjustly and fraudulently imprisoned him for a long 580 days.
There they are, all of them, showing their indignation, even knowing that they cooperated, in one way or another, in the destruction of Brazil as a nation, because the truth is that the coup against Dilma and the imprisonment of Lula literally represent class struggle. I know very well who came down from the fence or jumped the fence after the tragedy that was the coup, complete with Temer and Bolsonaro, and now shows themselves to be "very" indignant. I know, and how I know...
The fight for democracy, social rights, and the rule of law began long before 2016, when the usurper, traitor, and coup plotter Michel Temer and his successor, the ultraliberal fascist Jair Bolsonaro, seized central power. The media, especially progressive websites and portals that engage in political combat online, should know who's who and how they positioned themselves starting in 2013, when the first movements of the "coxinhas" (a derogatory term for right-wingers) in yellow shirts, the future "Bolsominions," began. That's it.
