The Boric effect

Elections were held in Chile on Sunday, May 7th.

The far right was the big winner.

And when we talk about the far-right, we're talking about followers of Pinochet.

Why did the far right win?

And why did it win in such an overwhelming way?

Complex phenomena, multiple causes.

But among these causes, the Boric government stands out.

What he did and what he failed to do.

And, most importantly, the incorrect assumption from which it started.

In the past, this assumption might have been the best one.

In the times we live in, it is not.

For multiple reasons as well - among which we highlight the strength of the far right, the magnitude of the national and international crisis, and the degree of global geopolitical polarization - The time and space available for maneuvers is less today than in the period 1998-2008..

And when space and time are smaller, Speed ​​and precision are fundamental..

Boric, in addition to numerous other mistakes, didn't understand this.

Truth be told, he's not the only one who didn't understand this.

The right wing has already won in Paraguay and Chile, and is now a threat in Argentina.
