The Unmasked in a Time of Masks

The facade of businessman, presenter, and socialite (whatever that means) crumbled, revealing his true nature: that of a neoliberal fascist hiding behind well-tailored suits and a smile as cold as his words. And there's no point in retracting it! The mask has fallen.

Supposedly elegant, impeccably groomed, hair meticulously styled, a metallic, white, and flawless smile. A man over sixty who doesn't consider himself old or even aging. The passage of time is an aggravating factor, perhaps wisdom, for ordinary mortals, but not for him. His life is one of luxury, comfort, mansions, cars, and women as beautiful as they are young. The mask he wears daily is flawless, adorned with the gold and precious stones of the Egyptians and connected to the deities of capital, like primitive man who used such ornaments to facilitate contact with spirituality. His religion is money.

Masks have always existed throughout human history and have been used for a wide variety of purposes; in Greek theater, they added expressiveness to the texts being performed, as well as protecting actors from the potential possession of the dead. Social masks, on the other hand, are fundamental for adapting to the various characters and circumstances that populate our existence.

Here I reveal my true colors, confessing that my initial impulse was to write an encyclopedia of swear words, as an act of repulsion and catharsis, against this man who served as inspiration for this text. That wouldn't be a good option; I am, on the surface, a refined and well-educated young woman. Furthermore, using a space like this to belittle the efforts of so many people in maintaining it would be anything but republican. Thank goodness for thought... $#@%&*&$%#?!!!

The sixty-year-old heartthrob, believing himself above suspicion, was exposed by the technology that is watching and exposing us, especially in moments when we take character-based nudes (Long live body nudes!) and show who we are in informal conversations with our peers.

The dying soul had the audacity to declare that the coronavirus is just a little flu that causes disproportionate hysteria and that ONLY 10% to 15% of the elderly will die. Since he is not elderly, he is certainly talking about our parents, our aunts and uncles, our friends who, now elderly, were not born with a silver spoon in their mouth like him. The closeted old man doesn't know how much my elderly relatives will be missed when they are gone. Everyone is missed by someone, even those we barely notice.

The facade of businessman, presenter, and socialite (whatever that means) crumbled, revealing his true nature: that of a neoliberal fascist hiding behind well-tailored suits and a smile as cold as his words. And there's no point in retracting it! THE MASK HAS FALLEN.

So, even with masks falling off, let's not forget! In times of pandemic, let's wear masks, but not his.
