Bolsonaro's "golden" carnival

With the alleged intention of criminalizing carnival groups, Jair Bolsonaro, not at all straying from his usual behavior, which, it must be said, is frightening, shocking, limitless, and totally unscrupulous.

The 2019 carnival overflowed with joy and expressions of dissatisfaction with the current president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro.

Carnival groups across Brazil sang the hit song that became famous and must have either annoyed or pleased the president. This led him to an action that contributed to the weight of the iron ball tied to the country's feet.

With the alleged intention of criminalizing carnival groups, Jair Bolsonaro, not at all different from his usual behavior, which, it must be said, is frightening, shocking, limitless and totally unscrupulous, as he acted in his campaign, attacking the left with fake news aimed at painting a picture of immorality and disrespect, posted a video containing pornographic scenes on his main government platform, Twitter.

Just like during the campaign, when he felt threatened by the various demonstrations that swept the country, such as #EleNão (Not Him), Bolsonaro is now attacking the biggest popular festival: Carnival!

Possibly annoyed by the hit song “Hey, Bolsonaro Go F*** Yourself, or Oh, Oh, Oh, Bolsonaro is the Man...” Bolsonaro, in an attempt at revenge and to strengthen his government base in the defense and reconstruction of “morality and good customs,” shares the video.

The video, which contained scenes of self-masturbation followed by what is known as a "golden shower," went viral on the internet and was one of the most talked-about topics not only online but also in the presidential palace itself.

Completely clueless and unprepared, Bolsonaro, whose position on the nation I personally hesitate to write about while sitting at my keyboard, even asked the meaning of the term "golden shower."

As if the blunders, the international embarrassment, the impeachable offense, and the exposure of pornographic content to everyone, including children, weren't enough, Bolsonaro is now stabbing Brazil in the back by increasing corporate credit card spending by 16%, reaching R$ 1.100.000.00 in less than two months of his government, while questioning the "high" investment in education.

The post was criticized by internet users and reported to the digital platform, which today, in the president's eyes, serves as a channel for governing. In fact, this event also became the subject of jokes online, regarding a possible block on the social network and his inability to govern effectively.

But while Bolsonaro's popularity is growing amidst shame, unpreparedness, rejection, irresponsibility, and all sorts of other adjectives that apply to him, Luis Inácio Lula da Silva was remembered and cheered during Brazil's Carnival.

Unlike Bolsonaro, Lula had a very positive impact during Carnival, with chants of "Free Lula" in street parties across Brazil and during parades at the Rio Sambadrome.

Paraíso do Tuiuti, a samba school from Rio de Janeiro, which last year brought to the avenue a political parade full of criticism of the demonstrations that led to the impeachment of the legitimate president Dilma Rousseff, did not shy away from or hide its indignation, which is shared by many Brazilians, and presented the theme "The Savior of the Nation," eliciting spontaneous cheers from the stands.

Mangueira, the champion of Rio's carnival, filled the avenue with an emotional parade, paying a beautiful tribute to the heroes of the resistance, invisible to the eyes of literature, and to Councilor Marielle Franco, brutally murdered last year.

Now, a treat for whoever guesses who or which family criticized the Rio Carnival champion's title?
