The act of the 15th against democratic institutions fueled by the president and the humanism of Jojo Rabbit.

A furious segment of Brazil insists on not allowing itself the peaceful coexistence so fundamental in these times of Coronavirus, acute oil price crisis, stock market crash, etc., and reproduces this cloudy and thundery Sunday in João Pessoa the fury fueled by President Bolsonaro against democratic institutions, going against the need for peace and a new era in the country.

The above preamble fits well with the context when one sees or follows the Brazilian reality and watches the film Jojo Rabbit, an important approach to the immense evil caused by Nazism in Germany in the last century, during World War II.

The film's narrative reveals a story of resistance against Nazism, focusing on a boy consumed by the desire to become a Nazi soldier, but who ultimately stands out from the others because he lacks the courage to kill a rabbit – hence his enduring nickname – and from that moment on, amidst the widespread chaos, he begins to rediscover his humanity.

The plot is much more compelling because throughout the film he learns the truth about the Jews, even witnessing his mother (Scarlett Johansson) keeping a Jewish woman (Thomasin McKenzie) in her home, her execution by the Gestapo, but thus gaining Jojo's support in building a sense of overcoming adversity and achieving human freedom.

While the film extols the importance of resistance and overcoming war, in our country – far from JO JO – the radical part of the country insists on disrespectful conflicts, but which cannot prevail over Democracy and the Democratic Rule of Law.

It's Jojo's time. It's time for the country to turn its back on acts against democracy and to overcome the decadent ideas of a leader who encourages war.
