The 'Manifesto to the Brazilian People' by former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, read on Friday night (8), at the launch of his pre-candidacy, in Contagem (MG), had space dedicated to the denunciation of Lava Jato and Judge Sérgio Moro. The PT member also declared himself a political prisoner in Brazil.
Read the excerpts from the manifesto:
Those who accused me in Lava Jato know they lied, because I never owned, never possessed, and never spent a single night in that apartment in Guarujá. Those who convicted me, Sérgio Moro and the judges of the TRF-4, know they orchestrated a judicial farce to imprison me, because I demonstrated my innocence in the process and they failed to present evidence of the crime they accuse me of.
To this day I still wonder: where is the proof?
I was not treated by the Lava Jato prosecutors, by Moro, and by the TRF-4 as an equal citizen. I was always treated as an enemy.
I don't harbor hatred or resentment, but I doubt that my tormentors can sleep with a clear conscience.
Against all injustices, I have the constitutional right to appeal while free, but this right has been denied to me, until now, for the sole reason that my name is Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
That's why I consider myself a political prisoner in my own country.
When it became clear that they were going to arrest me by force, without a crime or evidence, I decided to stay in Brazil and confront my tormentors. I know my place in history and I know the place reserved for those who persecute me today. I am certain that justice will prevail and the truth will prevail.
