Moraes is committed, down to his last hair, to seriously judging Lava Jato.

Their mission is clear: to defend their friends and play offensively against their opponents.

The former Minister of Justice under Temer, former Secretary of Public Security under Alckmin, and former secretary of almost everything in Kassab's administration, lawyer Alexandre de Moraes, today demonstrated that he will not be going to the Supreme Federal Court to have afternoon tea with his fellow judges.

His mission is clear: to defend his friends and play offensively against his adversaries. When asked by Senator Lindbergh (PT-RJ) if he would accept resigning as a judge in the Lava Jato cases, given his past dealings with many defendants in his political career, he didn't hesitate. And all that was missing was for Moraes to say to the senator, "Hey, you fool, you think I got this far for nothing?"

Moraes' nomination to the Supreme Court will be approved by an overwhelming majority. Precisely because he will be responsible for reviewing the Lava Jato report to be prepared by Edson Fachin. It won't be his beautiful blond hair that wins him so many votes. Nor his green eyes.

Moraes is a seasoned pro and made that very clear in his response regarding coercive measures. He didn't say he was against them because, according to him, there are different cases. And in some of them, the judge may find it necessary to do so even without the suspect having been summoned.

It would have been more direct if he had said, "If the guy is from the PT [Workers' Party], and especially if it's Lula, then don't even think about it, anything goes."

Congratulations, Minister. It's clear that you are committed to the Constitution and the most republican values, down to the last hair on your head. Just as many people, like myself, are well aware of what that means to you.
