Miriam Leitão, eternal spokesperson for Ferdinand II

Fernando II lost the Crown, but Miriam Leitão continues to be the spokesperson for everything that represents him. The Horned Vampire, brought to the Sapucaí by Acadêmicos do Tuiuti in the 2018 Carnival, for example. And especially Pedro Parente, former continuer of the Petrobras demolition project, which Fernando II could not complete during his reign. A relationship that began long ago.

"The other day I went to speak with President Fernando Henrique Cardoso. On the way out, just to confirm, I asked:"

Are you really going to sell Vale?

-- I will -- she replied without any hesitation, and then he asked:

How much is the company worth? 8? 10?

I answered:

"It's worth more, Mr. President. Much more."

"Vale is worth more than what's written on the wall."

Journalist Miriam Leitão concluded a lengthy report on Vale for Interview magazine in 1995, the same year she began her career at TV Globo – she had been writing a column for O Globo since 1991. The dialogue reveals the level of trust between the interviewee and the interviewer – who became a key figure in FHC's economic policy during his two terms in office.

The relationship was so close that, during his second term, even against all evidence, Miriam convinced her bosses that FHC (Fernando Henrique Cardoso) wouldn't devalue the real, ending the fictitious parity with the dollar. They almost went bankrupt, stuffed with greenbacks. As you can see, it was a matter of faith.

And Miriam is still there, predicting the future in the most varied spaces: Bom Dia Brasil, Globo News, CBN. Mystery will always lurk around there.

He excelled at setting up the absurdities that fueled the "breeding ground" of the 2016 coup. He also painted a bright and straightforward future for Temer's "dream team," until he, for a time, came under Globo's scrutiny. But now he's back to his regular programming and the best of Carnival.

The "myriatization" of the economy is a fait accompli at the station, where FHC is still king.
