Confident mind and blossoming heart: a way of being and living.

Lula will be a stronger president than the unmentionable one if elected, because he acts with dialogue, commitment, greatness of spirit, a serene soul, and an untiring heart.

Here I want to express my grateful confirmation of genuine feelings regarding two pieces of news that were very significant to me.

First, the expression of support for Lula from the jailer who guarded him throughout his unjust and inhumane imprisonment, which lasted a long 580 days!

His name is Jorge Chastalo Filho, former head of the Federal Police Operations Unit in Curitiba, and he currently holds the position of special attaché in Lima, Peru.

"Faced with the tragedy we are experiencing, I declare my vote (for Lula) with all the strength of my heart. I admire his sensitivity and concern for poverty, social inequality, and people's well-being; all of this has proven to be very genuine in him and has marked me. I never saw him depressed; in prison he was a humble man who always showed gratitude and compassion for those who were there with him."

Chastalo states that he does not like being pigeonholed into "left-wing or right-wing ideological types" but is willing to take risks and face the consequences of his expression as a public servant, indignant about the quality of the current government, which he considers abominable and even disgusting.

"Given this absurdity we are experiencing, this attack on democracy, this lack of civility, this immense lack of love, this hatred fueled among people, I have absolute contempt for the government that is in power. As Ulisses Guimarães once said, I am disgusted."

Secondly, the public and collective statement by the four economists considered the Fathers of the Real Plan during Fernando Henrique Cardoso's government: Edmar Bacha, Pedro Malan, Lara Rezende, and Arminio Fraga.

Of course, they are not left-wing and have nothing to fear; they must be comfortable with their lives. But they trust Lula as the only politician capable, due to his experience and competence, sensitivity and character, of negotiating with capital and the market, respecting Congress and the established powers without resentment or arrogance, thinking only about economic development, social justice, and concern for nature that extends throughout Brazil and serves as an example for the world.

Third, I almost forgot, FHC's embrace of Lula reminded me of Franco Montoro and Mario Covas, founders of the PSDB, as well as Simone Tebet's wave from the PMDB, which reminded me of Ulisses Guimarães and Dante de Oliveira, who, incidentally, was from Mato Grosso, which didn't prevent him from being the author of the amendment that would allow direct elections for president. The amendment, unfortunately, was defeated by a Congress still held hostage by the dictatorship.

Lula will be a stronger president than the unmentionable one if elected, because he acts with dialogue, commitment, greatness of spirit, a serene soul, and an untiring heart to free us from the ignorance manipulated by the far-right.

NAMASTE!
