Lula was sworn in yesterday.

"Lula occupied all the political space by meeting, in the capital of the Republic, with the leaders of the other two branches of government," writes Alex Solnik.

After four years of rampant and insane coup attempts, democracy has won once again. There were two victories. On October 30th and November 9th. At the ballot box and in attempts to blame the ballot box for the defeat. It's over.

Bolsonaro has used his last card. The military's report, his last hope of turning the tables, concluded that the elections were clean.

The professional coup plotters and those manipulated by them have been left without a platform. All that remains for the still-serving president, who abdicated the throne two months before the end, is to go home.

On the same day as the report, which was supposed to be a bombshell but turned out to be a dud, Lula occupied all the political space by meeting, in the nation's capital, with the bigwigs of the other two branches of government.

It looked like his inauguration. And I think it was, since there has to be someone in the presidency.

For the first time in four years, the country saw the Three Branches of Government converse in a civilized manner, without gnashing of teeth, without unfriendly faces, as mandated by the constitution.

Lula's first press conference in Brasília after being elected was another encouraging sign. Instead of rudeness, insults, and provocations, hallmarks of the current occupant of the Planalto Palace, he gave intelligent, interesting, and humorous answers, like this one:

"When I lost an election, I would get sad. Depressed, no. A Corinthians fan doesn't get depressed."

Brazil is becoming Brazil again.
