Lula is a historic project.

His eight years in office represented a bold project of economic development.

It is possible to find various arguments in favor of voting for Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in October, but it is necessary to recognize that he represents much more than a temporary solution to defeat the most unqualified ruler to emerge in Brazilian politics since 1822.

The debate involves in-depth reflection.

An assessment of two centuries of our country's more or less independent life shows that Lula is a very rare character, one of those who rarely appear in a country's history.

In short: a worker born in the backwoods of a poor and underdeveloped nation, the target of successive colonial and imperialist operations, and governed for centuries by adventurers and opportunists, proved to be the driving force behind progressive changes long awaited by the country's history.

The eight years of his government represented a courageous project of economic development, defense of democracy, income distribution, and national sovereignty—a combination never before seen in the country's history. This is the project under debate in 2022.
