This Tuesday (25), the deputies of the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo (Alesp) approved Complementary Law Project (PLC) 43/2022, determining the end of the confiscation of retirees and pensioners who earn up to R$ 7.087,22, the ceiling of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS).

The unanimous approval of the PLC signifies a major victory for the struggle waged by the category against the confiscation of pensions, as well as for Haddad's campaign for governor of the state, the only candidate to say that he would revoke this confiscation.

But we must remain steadfast in the fight to demand that Rodrigo Garcia approve the PLC without vetoes. This task is in our hands. We won the first battle; let's move forward to prevent further setbacks. Our unity is the strength of Apeoesp and our category. After approval, the PLC will come into effect on January 1, 2023.

The fight continues to repeal the labor reform, the pension reform, the spending cap, and all the laws that have brought unthinkable setbacks to Brazilian civilization. Therefore, the second round of these elections is crucial for the future of the country and our state.

We must therefore remain mobilized to ensure the victory of President Lula and Haddad in the São Paulo gubernatorial elections. Only with them can we guarantee more investment in education and new public policies that promote love, peace, equal rights, and justice.
