A day of struggles and strikes. Let's react!

This Friday, the 10th, we will hold many demonstrations throughout Brazil, especially here in São Paulo, against the policies of dismantling social, labor, and pension rights that have spread across all three levels of government: Federal, State, and Municipal. It will be an act of citizenship against the gang of Temer, Padilha, and Moreira Franco.

This Friday, the 10th, we will hold many demonstrations throughout Brazil, especially here in São Paulo, against the policies of dismantling social, labor, and pension rights that have spread across all three levels of government: Federal, State, and Municipal. It will be an act of citizenship against the gang of Temer, Padilha, and Moreira Franco, who are destroying Brazil and selling off its resources, with the support of criminals installed in the Federal Senate, the Chamber of Deputies, and important judicial bodies.

One of the most serious blows these bandits have inflicted on the population will begin to be felt on Saturday, the day after our demonstrations, when the labor reform, unfortunately already approved by the National Congress, will come into effect, removing historical rights. Among the various losses imposed on workers is the increase in the daily work hours from 8 to 12 hours and the reduction of the lunch break from one hour to 30 minutes.

Not content with destroying labor rights, Temer is now trying to destroy retirement benefits as well with the infamous pension reform, which his government still intends to approve to show its support to the financial market, rentiers, and speculators.
But it's not just the federal government that's implementing unpopular measures. Friday's demonstrations will also denounce what's happening in the São Paulo state government. Alckmin is dismantling all public services with systematic attacks on civil servants, starting with the failure to comply with the salary adjustment date, a fact I've already reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office. Several categories, such as those linked to the Education, Public Security, and Penitentiary Administration secretariats, have gone almost four years without compensation for inflationary losses.

And as if four years without a raise wasn't enough, the PSDB (Brazilian Social Democracy Party) member sent Bill 920/2017 to the Legislative Assembly, freezing investments in social areas for another two years, preventing not only inflation adjustments but also career advancement, with the suspension of benefits such as five-year bonuses, sixth-part bonuses, and leave bonuses. I am mobilized, on the front lines at the ALESP (Legislative Assembly of São Paulo), against these measures that harm not only public employees but the entire population of São Paulo who need the services they provide, from education and security to health and social assistance. This week we achieved a victory. Thanks to our denunciations, which received media attention, and the opposition of the population, the PSDB members had to withdraw the absurd project that implemented the distribution of "farinata" (a type of cornmeal) throughout the state.

But we will not begin our Friday demonstration with the godfather, but with the godson. In the morning we will be in front of Doria's office, in Praça do Patriarca, denouncing the dismantling he is also promoting in social areas while traveling the world. The mayor is destroying social assistance and culture; his cuts to the municipal education budget have already led to a reduction in the number of teachers, a decrease in school meals, and the closure of computer labs, reading rooms, and playrooms in early childhood education. But the greatest absurdity of his administration was when he tried to introduce human rations into school meals. The idea only didn't go ahead because, alongside the entire population, we rose up against this further outrage.

It is against all of this that we will demonstrate on Friday. We will leave Praça da Sé at 9:30 am towards the São Paulo City Hall, in Praça do Patriarca, and continue in a march to Avenida Paulista. At 14 pm, the gathering will be in front of Palácio dos Bandeirantes, where public servants from all categories will show their strength, demanding the immediate withdrawal of Bill 920 from the Legislative Assembly.
