The return of the National Congress to parliamentary activities this week is sparking a mix of expectations and concerns among Brazilian workers. Everyone recognizes that, under Lula's presidency, a period of hope took hold in the country; however, the political nuances reveal a challenging scenario, with a National Congress that is predominantly conservative and right-wing. In this context, it is imperative that progressive agendas be prioritized and strategically articulated.

One of the central themes that deserves special attention is the Administrative Reform, represented by Constitutional Amendment Proposal 32. This proposal, although presented as an effort to restructure the State, carries profound implications for the working class and for the governmental structure itself. The alignment of the Legislative branch with market interests demands organized resistance from labor unions and a search for alternatives that guarantee the rights of public servants and the efficiency of public services.

Another crucial point is the regulation of app-based work. With the exponential growth of this work model, it is essential to establish guidelines that protect the rights of these workers, preventing abuses and precarious working conditions. Negotiated contributions also emerge as a sensitive issue, requiring an approach that balances the interests of the parties involved and ensures worker representation in negotiations.

The discussion surrounding the new first-job law and the reintroduction of payroll taxes also demands special attention. The resumption of policies that favor job turnover and labor market flexibility represent setbacks that must be vigorously combated. It is necessary to promote measures that encourage the creation of decent jobs and professional stability, instead of prioritizing business interests at the expense of labor rights.

Beyond the specific demands of the working class, issues of general interest must also be addressed with sensitivity and responsibility. Tax reform, for example, presents challenges and opportunities to reduce social inequalities and promote a fairer distribution of the tax burden. The debate surrounding the electoral code and the use of artificial intelligence in elections are equally important for strengthening democratic mechanisms and ensuring political representation.

Faced with a Congress whose ideological composition is unfavorable to progressive agendas, it is crucial that workers organize and maintain mobilization to influence the legislative process. Active participation in discussion spaces, in the streets, and on social media, in addition to networking with other sectors of civil society, are essential strategies to promote significant changes and defend social interests. Let us always remember that the Brazil we dream of depends on each one of us and that together we are stronger.
