Little cleavage, little fracture, little crack, little rupture

"Don't come to me with whining," said the late character "Pedro Pedreira," played by the also late Francisco Milani from "Escolinha do Professor Raimundo" (by Chico Anysio), which aired on TV in the 90s of the last century.

In other words, don't come to me with complaints, don't come to me with nonsense, don't come to me with something of little value, don't come to me with petty things – that's what they call "Don't come to me with whining".

And it seems that's exactly what we're taking home every day: "whining."

How long will this last?

Let's look at some points or physical properties of materials (and minerals), according to the good old "Aurélio" dictionary, and see if they deserve the diminutive form when we make an analogy and comparison with some situations in national politics.

Cleavage is the "property that certain crystals have of fragmenting along specific planes, which are always possible faces of the same crystal."

The president of the republic and the former Minister of Justice and Public Security are two sides of the same coin. The same coin of the fascist right that assumed power in January 2019, in an election marked by antisocial networks operating in the shadows and in the wake of the impeachment of President Dilma, that is, a true coup orchestrated and financed by the mainstream family media, conservative politicians and, why not say it, organized crime.

The biggest cleavage in this fascist government was the separation of the President of the Republic from the former Minister of Justice and Public Security, who are more concerned with their candidacies in 2022. This duo couldn't care less about a country living through the coronavirus pandemic. It's all just talk. Later on, they'll all get together again to rob the Brazilian people and nation once more.

Fracture is the "surface obtained by breaking a mineral in a direction different from that of cleavage".

The "little fracture" was the rupture that occurred in the National Congress, among the center and center-right parties, so that this type of "plea bargain," practiced by the former Minister of Justice and Public Security against his former close friend and comrade, the President of the Republic, could have a practical and immediate effect, such as the opening of impeachment proceedings. If impeachment is the most traditional path in these cases of plea bargaining and, in a way, the best known to the population, with these parliamentarians and their unpatriotic interests, one can forget about it because it's unlikely anything worthwhile will come of it.

"Racha" means "the opening of something that is cracked; a crack, fissure, split, crevice."

"Rachadinha" was a practice used by members of the President's "family" throughout the country's recent history, which created loopholes for militias and organized crime to occupy territories, initially in the state of Rio de Janeiro and, due to the developed technique, eventually spreading to other states. Since nothing has actually happened so far, the "family" is having a field day in the areas they seized in the Central Plateau. They understand "rachadinha" well and are professionals at it.

Rupture is the "act or deed of breaking; rupture".

"Little rupture" is what it seems the left, democratic forces, progressive forces, organized civil society, and the great mass of unorganized people have been doing so far against this fascist government. The political and partisan differences of the leadership, in defense of democracy, cannot take center stage and leave us without direction. Despite the coronavirus quarantine, which forces us to bang pots and pans confined to our homes to protest against the President of the Republic and his associates, at some point we will have to go to the streets (and risk our lives) and, wearing masks, with the words: "Out with the Bolsonaros!"

The rupture, the definitive break, has to happen eventually and it can't be done half-heartedly.

"Don't come to me with whining!"

Would it be too much to dream of the annulment of the elected military presidential ticket, with an immediate political reform via Congress, including a threshold clause for parties, five-year terms without reelection, and a general election for all elective offices, coinciding with the 2020 electoral calendar?

It's high time to move forward!

"If the enemy advances, we retreat. If the enemy stops, we harass. And if the enemy retreats, we advance." (Mao Tse Tung)

This column was published on Cacá Medeiros Filho's blog http://cacamedeirosfilho.blogspot.com on April 3, 2020, because at that time I understood what was happening to be a minor rift, which now seems to be confirmed.
