Cry
"Social memory is, by definition, something that only makes sense when shared," writes columnist Wilson Ramos Filho.
I cried uncontrollably. I was deeply moved for two intense hours watching this stupendous documentary by Joaquim de Carvalho and Brasil 247. Thank you, Leonardo Attuch, thank you, Luis Carlos Rocha and Manoel Caetano, thank you Marcola Marco Aurélio and Nicole Briones, thank you Roberto Bagio, Adriana from the MST, Regina Cruz, Neudi from the MAB, Rosane da Silva, thank you Felipe Magal Mongruel and Mirian Gonçalves, who appear in this film, thank you to each of the thousands of men and women who built the Lula Livre Vigil, the largest resistance movement against an unjust political imprisonment in the history of humanity.
I cried because I'm a crybaby, I get emotional easily. I cried because I remembered, and I cried tears of joy because we won.
All of us who participated in this beautiful experience of resistance chose how to enter history. They also chose how they will be remembered. Moro, Deltan, Barroso, Gebran, Fachin, Carmen Lúcia, Rosa, all those who, directly or indirectly, participated in this operation against Brazil will be remembered, eternally, for what they did. The Lava Jato Museum will not allow them to be forgotten.
I will certainly cry when we celebrate Lula's victory in the presidential elections. We will cry together because we will win. We will cry together because we are comrades, because we are leftists, because we fought together, collectively, for a better world. If we have to explain, they won't understand. We are not like them.
Show this documentary to your children, to your friends, to the people you work with. Social memory is, by definition, something that only makes sense when shared. Let's remember, let's memorize together. To remember so as never to repeat. And so that we never forget the role of each and every one of us in these years when the obscurantism of many and the villainy of some have torn apart public institutions in Brazil.
