Was Bebianno right? Is Bolsonaro crazy?

The role of a president is to present solutions to the concrete problems of the people and the country, to respect institutions, and to preserve the country's external standing in the world. Bolsonaro has been none of that and has led an anti-people government, placing Brazil in the spotlight of global shame.

If the behavior of the president's sons was already considered inappropriate, on several occasions undermining the authority of their father (if he even has any) and turning the government into a grotesque scene at a dysfunctional family dinner table, this time it seems the patriarch himself has snapped.

Worse than Trump, the world's biggest internet addict, Bolsonaro used the Carnival holiday to spend his time on Twitter meddling in people's lives, inciting hatred against artists opposed to his government, spreading fake news, and going so far as to post a video on his account with scenes inappropriate for children and the family he claims to defend.

What he intended was to reduce Carnival – a beautiful, pluralistic, and democratic popular festival, one of the symbols of our culture – to a gathering of perverts.

A festival that symbolizes the country's culture, which he says is above all else, and which, in just two cities, Rio and São Paulo, will generate thousands of temporary jobs and almost R$ 5 billion in public and private revenue.

What people do in their daily lives is not Bolsonaro's responsibility.

However, it would be up to him to explain the Queiroz case, the front men of his party, and what the true relationship is between his family and militiamen.

However, even if people's lives were his concern, Bolsonaro is not worried about "values," but rather about attacking all those who oppose his attitudes and his shallow way of governing and acting.

He must have been outraged by the words of the people at Carnival who told him to go to hell.

Where has this ever been seen, right, Mr. President?

But this outrage was not the same when Dilma was similarly attacked at the opening of the World Cup, when Bolsonaro was already a public figure, a congressman, and remained silent.

The role of a president is to represent the nation, to be polite, to be balanced, and not to act aggressively when criticized.

The role of a president is to present solutions to the concrete problems of the people and the country, to respect institutions, and to preserve the country's external standing in the world.

Bolsonaro has been nothing like that and has run an anti-people government, placing Brazil in the spotlight of global shame.

They want to persecute, defame, and take away rights.

He wants to transform the country into his family fiefdom, imposing his backward customs and ways, and his narrow-minded logic of living and acting.

"Bolsonaro is crazy." The words of Bebianno, his trusted man fired by his youngest son, seem to be true.
