Walking with faith

The political and social dichotomy we are experiencing can very well be classified within the idea that there is indeed a Spiritual world where superior Spirits provide assistance to disembodied men and even to those who are embodied.

According to Spiritism, all spirits are subject to the law of cause and effect. This law seeks to explain the events of life by attributing a "just motive" and a "beneficial purpose" to all events that man encounters, including suffering.

In The Spirits' Book, Allan Kardec wrote that there are ten "Moral Laws," one of which is the Law of Progress. According to Kardec, there are two kinds of progress that mutually support each other, yet do not proceed side by side: intellectual progress and moral progress.

In modern times, the narrative of Chico Xavier's book, Our Home, becomes increasingly clear and real. A classic of Brazilian Spiritist literature, the book speaks of the existence of a Spiritual Colony where spirits gather to learn and work between incarnations.

I imagine a dividing line where, below, lies the colorless Brazil of Bolsonaro, with his bizarre, violent, and stupid supporters who back the barbarity of his government; and above, the colorful Brazil where people embrace each other, respect each other, are supportive, and work to recover from the damage being done to the Brazil below.

These demonstrations are becoming increasingly strong and present in the streets and, due to Covid, in the displays of affection and care, as we joyfully witnessed at Gilberto Gil's birthday celebration.

The video dedicated to Gil, where friends sing that "faith doesn't usually fail," is a reflection of the Brazil from above, which is also the Brazil that lives within us, pulsating with hope and determination.

The tectonic plates of Brazil from below and the clouds of Brazil from above will adjust in a unique phenomenon to realign them, bringing back the optimism and peace that have always been the hallmark of the Brazilian spirit.
