Aécio, a lost soul in the Senate.

Even his fellow members of the PSDB party no longer want him in charge, demanding his resignation. The man from Minas Gerais, therefore, who, dissatisfied with his defeat in the 2014 presidential elections, led the coup that ousted President Dilma Rousseff – and even went so far as to file a lawsuit with the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) requesting the annulment of her ticket "just to be a nuisance" – died politically, without a second thought, leaving orphaned and ashamed all those who, among artists and politicians, embraced his candidacy; read the article by columnist Ribamar Fonseca.

Senator Aécio Neves has become a ghost in the Senate. After restoring his mandate and his right to go out at night, overturning a decision by the Supreme Federal Court, his colleagues began to avoid him, fearing contamination. He was practically alone, abandoned even by his former squires, such as Congressman Carlos Sampaio, who was his shadow, and now nobody listens to him. Even his fellow members of the PSDB party no longer want him in charge, demanding his resignation. The man from Minas Gerais, therefore, who, dissatisfied with his defeat in the 2014 presidential elections, led the coup that ousted President Dilma Rousseff – and even went so far as to file a lawsuit with the TSE (Superior Electoral Court) requesting the annulment of her ticket "just to be a nuisance" – died politically, without a second thought, leaving orphaned and ashamed all those who, among artists and politicians, embraced his candidacy. This was the man they wanted as President of the Republic.

The once smiling and talkative senator, for whom even a wink from Dilma was a gesture of extreme gravity, lost his pose as a leader and potential PSDB candidate for the presidency after being caught, among other things, soliciting bribes from businessman Joesley Batista, whom he now calls a bandit. Until they were recorded, he and Michel Temer associated with the Batista brothers as friends and partners in illicit activities. Only after being exposed did they begin to consider the owners of JBS criminals. Therefore, it's worth remembering the old saying, "whoever lives with pigs eats swill." What to say now about those who had close ties with Aécio and even liked to take selfies with him, suggesting a long-standing friendship, and who today strive to distance themselves from him, even deleting photos previously posted on social media? For anyone with political ambitions, today it's bad business to appear alongside the still-national president of the PSDB.

Some say that hell is right here. It must be. Besides Aécio, former congressman Eduardo Cunha can attest to that, accused of buying votes from congressmen to approve the impeachment that removed President Dilma Rousseff and put Michel Temer in power—the man who is destroying the country with the support of the rotten part of the National Congress, the Supreme Court, Lava Jato, and the mercenary media. Remember what Jesus said in his Gospel: “Sowing is free, but reaping is obligatory.” He and Aécio are reaping what they sowed, for as the old saying goes: “He who sows the wind reaps the whirlwind.” And Temer's turn will also come, along with all those who, directly or indirectly, contributed and still contribute to dismantling our social achievements, increasing poverty, raising the number of those who go hungry, reducing educational opportunities, expanding unemployment, and handing over our natural resources to foreign capital. Before divine justice, not even a member of the PSDB party can escape punishment.

It remains to be seen how the Supreme Court will now treat the Minas Gerais politician, after the Senate's decision that saved him. The four investigations against him that are being processed in that Court are being handled by his close friend Gilmar Mendes, with whom he often has long phone conversations and who was "chosen," purely by luck, by the House's electronic roulette wheel. If that same roulette wheel were used by the Caixa Lottery for its various games, Gilmar and Aécio would win all the prizes. That's a lot of luck. Considering so much luck, the senator from Minas Gerais will probably escape unscathed from the four investigations in the Supreme Court, where he has allies and even admirers. If it depends, therefore, on the Supreme Court, Aécio will remain free and easy to enjoy the nightlife, fatten his bank account, and even run for re-election, because the real criminals are the Batista brothers, who gave him money and denounced him, in a criminal act against an innocent man, a victim of a setup, according to his defense. He will simply no longer have a place in the Senate or in his party.

It's worth noting that Aécio's blunders, including his marriage to Temer, not only destroyed him politically, albeit with impunity, but also the PSDB party, which will need to change its name – and its symbolic bird – if it wants to at least compete in the next elections. Without any candidates with a chance of reaching the Presidential Palace through direct vote, the party decided to commit suicide by clinging to Temer, who, even if he manages to block the Attorney General's complaint in the Chamber of Deputies, will sooner or later be ousted from the Presidency. Although he remains in office at the cost of even slave labor, an affront to the good people of this country who await, disappointed, a decision from the Supreme Court, Temer will not be able to perpetuate himself in power. The moment will come when the people, even without Kataguiris to manipulate them and without media coverage, will take to the streets anyway in an explosion of indignation. And then anything can happen.
