The Olympic booing and the dismantling of the government
To the senators who will support the coup, remember, your families will be ashamed of you forever. May this Olympic-level booing be just the beginning of many more to come...
Approximately 900 million people were connected and watched live the opening of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games last Friday (5). The fear of being announced during the event was in vain, the resounding and much-anticipated booing came, and in a strong, decisive tone.
Yes, the people who were there weren't the same ones from the Workers' Party's social programs, widely criticized by business owners. Those who wildly booed the interim President Michel "Usurper" Temer were... that's right, the upper class! Remember those familiar pot-bangers who appeared for 15 minutes on the national news? They were the ones who paid between R$200,00 and R$4.600,00 to watch the spectacle of the opening ceremony at the Maracanã stadium and made a spectacle of their own, booing the illegal head of state. This wasn't just for show – despite Globo minimizing it and considering it "normal" – the whole world saw that it's not just the poor who disapprove of the provisional and coup-plotting government of the decorative former Vice President.
With the marvelous and utopian program "Bridges to the Future," announced well before "assuming" the presidential pen, Temer deceived the country and implemented the "Slide-to-the-past." Temer's booing was a direct message to the Senators, urging them to listen to the voice of everyone, not just the less fortunate classes. As always, Globo tries to give an air of normality to everything that happens to Temer, like when Fernando Baiano said he paid a bribe of 10 million to Temer and... it was nothing serious, just a "very nice" little campaign donation to an extremely "clean-cut" president.
Meanwhile, in the make-believe world where Lula and Dilma stole, the same coup-supporting television network never tires of talking about the supposed Atibaia property, the supposed Guarujá triplex, and all that nonsense! They also never tire of showing the opposition saying that Dilma engaged in fiscal irresponsibility, violated the Constitution, committed crimes of fiscal irresponsibility, etc... Oh, and the special and award-winning collaborator, the biased Judge Sérgio "Anti-Hero" Moro, now invents that Lula tried to obstruct justice. What a farce! Just like this Lava Jato opera, which punishes, imprisons, and humiliates first, only to then "obtain spontaneous" and satisfactory confessions. Nobody can stand this circus anymore! Are the Supreme Court Justices blind or just one-eyed like the statue of Justice itself?
Accusations against members of the Workers' Party are a balm for the attention-seeking Themis and for the mastermind behind the coup, Globo. Never have so many lies and fabricated stories been sold as in the last 3 years. Never has there been a political crisis so heavily promoted and fueled by media coverage as this one under this illegal government, which is dismantling the democratic rule of law and social programs, formed by corruption suspects with the appearance of Buddhist monks. And, believe it or not! Applauded by a Congress of, let's say, "passive" parliamentarians, not to say "complacent."
The time is coming, the game of democracy is ending, and the Senators of the Republic have a duty to end this cowardly and illegal impeachment. As the wise master Ciro Gomes said in a TV interview: "Impeachment is not a remedy for a bad government."
Honestly, I'm not proud of anything in this country today. What good is a beautiful, rich, and wonderful Olympics if thousands of people like me are struggling to survive? Every day food prices are increased in supermarkets, every day gasoline has a new price. What the hell is this, people having to sell their possessions to buy food and have the minimum dignity to live? Privileged are those who are able to pay their bills on time, at the expense of those who don't even know what they will eat tomorrow. Is this the country you, who are reading this now, want?
And then they can't explain why violence is increasing? Why social indicators are falling? Enough! Either this runaway train that is Temer's indigestion is stopped, or worse days are coming. Soon the "Sarney's Inspectors" will return, with their cell phones – today – inspecting the goods on supermarket shelves and posting them on social media.
Let it be clear, the coup is becoming more and more "intimate" every day, masked by the pseudo-legality of the institutions that should be opposing it. Again, I call attention to those Senators who claim to represent the people, who were elected (legitimately, like Dilma) simply to do their duty and listen to the voices of the streets.
Impeachment without a crime of responsibility is a coup here and in China. Besides, if Temer wants to go there, send him, but without a mandate. If he wants to be known as a hero, he should resign! Otherwise, China might just be here, with thousands of people being governed by a hypocritical, brutal, ruthless, and unscrupulous dictator.
To the senators who will support the coup, remember, your families will be ashamed of you forever. And to those who are undecided, I can guarantee one thing: Brazil can be heaven or hell, it only depends on them. A wrong or right decision will change the nation's destiny, at least until 2018.
Out with Temer, out with the coup government, out with the complacent senators. May this Olympic booing be just the beginning of many more to come...
