Temer's decree and the whip in the hand of capital.

What we are witnessing is an unrestrained offensive against our people. This decision not only serves the interests of those who inhumanely exploit the working class, but also hinders the oversight of those who are still condemned to conditions of total precarization.

Driven by a regressive agenda and the complete dismantling of social and labor rights, the Michel Temer government, through the Ministry of Labor, is once again attacking the working class by publishing a decree that makes it more difficult to characterize slave labor in Brazil.

What we are witnessing is an unrestrained offensive against our people. This decision not only serves the interests of those who inhumanely exploit the working class, but also hinders the oversight of those who are still condemned to conditions of total precarity.

Such a measure, coupled with outsourcing and labor reform, creates the ideal scenario for a world of precarious work with high mortality rates, since the new regulation requires the existence of restriction of freedom to be considered "slave labor." Furthermore, it requires proof of whether or not the worker consented.

What we are witnessing is not only the dissolution of norms that balanced the capital-labor relationship, it is more than that, it is the reduction of work to archaic levels, it is the reduction of workers to conditions of violence and brutalization.

This decree violates all international standards and Article 149 of the Penal Code, which states that it is a crime to reduce someone to a condition analogous to slavery, whether by subjecting them to forced labor or exhausting workdays.

Armed with rhetorical modernity, the Temer administration is burying the future of generations. This measure does not aim, in any way, to confront slave labor or any type of precarious work; rather, it makes it impossible for institutions that combat this type of practice and fight for the advancement of dignified work, with job appreciation and creation, to do their job.
