13 July

Unfortunately for Brazil, the current president of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), Laurita Vega, and the president of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Cármen Lúcia, have failed in their constitutional duties. Systematically. Daily. In an unbelievable, surreal, Kafkaesque way.

Laurita Vaz is the current PRESIDENT of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ). Just as Cármen Lúcia is the current PRESIDENT of the Supreme Federal Court (STF). Two women. In key positions in the Judiciary. With the sole and primary function of upholding the Law. Guaranteeing legality. Ensuring that the law prevails over private or corporate interests. That is all that PRESIDENTS have to do.

The soon-to-be Justice Cármen Lúcia is, ultimately, the GUARDIAN of the 88 Constitution. The soon-to-be Justice Laurita Vaz is, ultimately (with the right to appeal to the Supreme Court if there is no resolution), the GUARDIAN of the application of Criminal Law in Brazil. IN BRAZIL.

Unfortunately for Brazil, both have failed in their Constitutional missions. Systematically. Daily. In an unbelievable way. Surreal. Kafkaesque.

Lula is 72 years old. Known income. Good background. Fixed residence in the SAME LOCATION for over 20 years. Former President and Presidential Candidate. He has no history of violence or serious threats against anyone. He never intimidated witnesses or informants in Operation Lava Jato (which I call Operation Globo).

Therefore, any first-semester law student knows that he shouldn't be imprisoned. He should be released. The law provides for it. The 1988 Constitution provides for it. Anyone who searches on Google will reach the same conclusion.

The imminent Judge Favreto interpreted the LAW CORRECTLY. Lula's candidacy is a new fact. Only on JUNE 08th did the PT officially launch Lula as a pre-candidate for the presidency.

Obviously, keeping him illegally imprisoned simply because Sérgio Moro and Globo want to harm his campaign is unacceptable. While people with NO PROJECT FOR BRAZIL like Bolsonaro (who received the most money from JBS), Alckmin (the 'saint' of Odebrecht) and others speak daily with the press, campaign, record videos, hold meetings with supporters and also negotiate coalitions, etc., etc., etc., Lula is prevented from doing this. Illegally.

The conduct of the imminent Judge Gebran Neto, the imminent President of the TRF4 Thompson Flores, and Sérgio Moro (calling or sending WhatsApp messages from Portugal to the Federal Police Delegate to prevent him from complying with the IMMEDIATE Release Order) is illegal. They must be punished. Severely. These are decisions against the entire LEGAL ORDER INSTRUCTED IN BRAZIL. And if they do it to Lula, they can do it to you. It's that simple. Any First Instance Judge who disagrees with an Appeals Court Judge can now call the Police Delegate and order them not to comply if Sérgio Moro is not rigorously PUNISHED, removed from all of Lula's cases IMMEDIATELY, and suffers the consequences of not complying with the Law. I don't want a Brazil where every Judge, motivated by who knows what reasons, DOES NOT COMPLY WITH THE LAW. If anyone wants that, they are crazy and don't understand the consequences of this in our daily lives. It's that simple.

Laurita Vaz could stop this. She doesn't. She's breaking the law.

Cármen Lúcia could stop this. She doesn't. She's breaking the law.

Therefore, we must heed the call from the PT (Workers' Party) and Gleisi for the National Day of Mobilization for Democracy and for Lula on July 13th. This shows that what we want is FULL RESPECT FOR THE LAW IN FORCE IN BRAZIL. Regardless of who is in charge. Judge or not. Participate. Call for action. You will be affected by this legal uncertainty if we do nothing. ALL TOGETHER. FOR DEMOCRACY. FOR BRAZIL. I'll see you there.
