247 - Thousands of people held a new peaceful march in the Peruvian capital Lima on Thursday (26) against the government of the president-elect Dina Boluarte, demanding her resignation, early general elections and a Constituent Assembly.

Telesur's correspondent in Peru, Ramiro Angulo, reported that among the participants were delegations recently arrived from regions such as Cusco, Huancavelica, and Arequipa, who walked "along the Pan-American Highway North to Plaza Dos de Mayo" in the city center.

"We're talking about a distance of about three hours," said Angulo, adding that police cordons were observed around Plaza Dos de Mayo.

Later, several protesters advanced with the goal of reaching Plaza San Martín. "It's a significant group of people protesting against Dina Boluarte's government. Another of these groups went to Campo de Marte, located in the Jesús María neighborhood, on Alfonso Ugarte Avenue, to continue protesting," he said.

Other mobilizations have also been reported in various Peruvian regions, in addition to calls for Boluarte's resignation and the closure of Congress.
