247 - The UN General Assembly will analyze and vote on November 2nd and 3rd on a draft resolution presented by the Cuban government against the blockade imposed by the US for 60 years.

Cuban social organizations and the country's Revolutionary Government are receiving messages of support expressing the conviction that, for the 30th consecutive time, the draft resolution against the blockade will receive the approval of an overwhelming majority of the member countries of the UN General Assembly.

The president of the WPC - World Peace Council, Socorro Gomes, sent a message to Fernando González Llort, president of the ICAP - Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, highlighting that the Cuban people have the unwavering support of peace activists around the world.

"On behalf of the World Peace Council, please accept our warmest expression of support for the Cuban people's struggle against the US blockade. I ask that you convey to the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, and to Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez our solidarity and our conviction that once again the cruel measures devised and implemented by US imperialism for 60 years against the Cuban people will once again be rejected by the international community," writes the president of the WPC.

According to the leader of the peace movement, "the draft resolution presented by the Cuban Foreign Ministry against the blockade, which will be debated and voted on in the UN General Assembly, is a vivid indictment of the crimes committed by the US against the Cuban people."

She concludes by expressing her certainty that the Cuban people will remain steadfast in defending their self-determination and will triumph, despite the difficulties.

Cebrapaz - the Brazilian Center for Solidarity with Peoples and the Struggle for Peace - also sent greetings from Brazilian activists to the president of ICAP. The note is signed by the organization's president, Jamil Murad.

"On behalf of Cebrapaz - the Brazilian Center for Solidarity with Peoples and the Struggle for Peace, we send our support to the Cuban people and their Revolutionary Government on the occasion when, for the 30th consecutive time, the General Assembly of the United Nations will debate and vote on the draft resolution presented by the Cuban Government condemning the cruel measures of the United States aimed at preventing the economic and social development of Cuba," states the CMP leader.

The blockade is a continued action by the United States that for 60 years has aimed to defeat the Cuban Revolution through economic strangulation.

We are confident that once again the international community will speak out emphatically against the blockade of Cuba, and that the country will overcome the difficulties, perfecting its socialist economic model and paving the way for progress.

The blockade violates international law and strains relations between countries and peoples. As a defender of world peace, national self-determination, and international solidarity, Cebrapaz stands with the Cuban people in the fight against the blockade.
