Milei promises “the most reformist Congress in history” and calls on governors to form a new political pact

Milei seeks new political support base.

The speech had a celebratory tone, but also a pragmatic one. Milei invited the governors to participate in a dialogue session to discuss a new framework for political and economic agreements—a move interpreted as an attempt to guarantee... governability in the second half of the term.

 "Beyond the usual misfits, there are dozens of deputies and senators for whom one plus one equals two. Now we can finally turn the foundations of the May Pact into laws," the president stated.

With the new results, Milei's party went from 37 to 101 deputies and from 6 to 20 senators, significantly expanding its parliamentary strength. According to the president, this majority will allow progress on structural reforms that had been blocked by Congress.

"Populism never again"

During her speech, Milei once again criticized previous governments and praised the popular support she received.

 “Argentinians have said enough to populism. Never again populism! Two out of three Argentinians don’t want to go back to the past,” he declared. “Over the next two years, we must reaffirm the reformist path to consolidate growth and take off from Argentina.”

The president also described the result as confirmation of his "2023 mandate," highlighting that his government had "prevented Argentina's downfall" by confronting what he described as "a minefield" left by previous administrations.

Libertarian bunker and presence of allies

At the Hotel Libertador, Milei was accompanied by key figures from his government and the libertarian coalition: his sister Karina Milei, president of the LLA and secretary-general of the Presidency; the president of the Chamber, Martín MenemThe Minister of Economy, Luis CaputoThe Minister of Infrastructure, Federico Sturzenegger; the Minister of Human Capital, Sandra Pettovello; and the newly appointed chancellor, Pablo Quirno.
