Ignoring Milei's requests, the Argentine Senate begins voting on the decree.

The expectation is that the senators will not approve the provisional measure.

247 - The Argentine Senate, where a majority opposes the current government of Milei, began this Thursday (14) the debate on the Decree of Necessity and Urgency (DNU), a provisional measure that proposes several economic reforms to make the labor market more flexible and pave the way for privatizations.

Argentine President Javier Milei opposed the Senate vote on the provisional measure this Thursday. His intention was to delay the start of the vote on the "mega-decree" as much as possible, since it remains in effect until it is voted on by the legislature. And the expectation is that the senators will not approve it.

Now, in addition to the opposition in Parliament, Milei faces disagreements with Victoria Villaruel, vice president of the Argentine government and president of the Senate.

As indicated in a government note published on social media last Wednesday (13), Milei was reportedly unhappy with Villaruel, who ignored the president's appeals and included the vote on the house's agenda.
