'I am here to say that we will rebuild that peaceful and productive relationship,' says Lula in a speech in Argentina.

"Our business leaders need to understand what Argentina means to us. And Argentine business leaders need to understand what Brazil means," the president stated.

247 - In a speech this Monday (23) alongside the President of Argentina, Alberto Fernández, President Lula (PT) made a commitment to resume a “peaceful” and “productive” relationship with the neighboring country.

"Today I am here to tell the President of Argentina, the Argentine ministers, and the Argentine and Brazilian press, that today marks the resumption of a relationship that should never have been severed. My presence, as my first trip to a foreign country since my election, is to say that we will rebuild that peaceful, productive, and progressive relationship between two countries that were born to grow, develop, and generate better living conditions for their people," he declared.

"Our business leaders already understand, and need to understand even more, the importance and significance of Argentina to us. And Argentine business leaders need to understand what Brazil means for a good Brazil-Argentina relationship," Lula added.
