247 - The United States Embassy in Cuba is reopening its immigrant and consular visa services this Wednesday (4), five years after reducing the US presence in Havana due to alleged health incidents among diplomatic staff. The Embassy itself CIA director I already said that the 'Havana syndrome', which supposedly caused the illnesses, does not exist.

The U.S. embassy in Havana said last week that its decision to expand consular and visa services aims to “ensure the safe, legal, and orderly migration of Cubans.” Tourist visas remain prohibited for the time being.

Cubans are the second largest nationality after Mexicans to appear at the U.S. border, according to data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection. At the end of December, U.S. authorities reported stopping Cubans 34.675 times along the border with Mexico in November, a 21% increase from 28.848 times in October. (With NPR).
