"In 2022, Biden maintained the maximum pressure policy of his predecessor Trump," says Cuban Foreign Minister.

The goal is to cause the economy to collapse in the Caribbean nation and stimulate destabilizing actions.

247 - US President Joe Biden maintained the same policy of maximum pressure toward Cuba as his predecessor, Donald Trump.

This is the opinion of the Cuban authorities, expressed, among other times, at the end of the year, when Chancellor Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuba's Minister of Foreign Affairs, denounced that maintaining this policy of maximum pressure aims to cause the economy to collapse in the Caribbean nation and encourage destabilizing actions.

The Cuban foreign minister also denounced Washington's isolated position in the world, as evidenced by the growing international calls for an end to the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by that government on Cuba.

Bruno Rodríguez condemned the arbitrary inclusion of Cuba, the largest of the Antilles, on a list of state sponsors of terrorism, which imposes a stigma on Cuban entities and institutions and hinders financial and commercial transactions, as well as the possibilities of payments and credit.

"This genocidal policy is causing suffering to the island's population," the Foreign Minister indicated.

According to official data, between August 2021 and February 2022, the blockade caused Cuba losses of $3.806,5 million, a record for a seven-month period.

The accumulated losses during the more than six decades of applying this hostile policy amount to 154.217,3 million dollars, which, at the value of gold on the international market, would represent losses of more than 1.391.111 million dollars.
