247 - Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez strongly condemned the new escalation of hostility from the United States government, which seeks to impose an absolute blockade on fuel supplies to the Caribbean nation. According to the head of state, the measure represents yet another direct attack on Cuban sovereignty and will be met with firmness, serenity, and the conviction that reason is on Cuba's side.

The information comes from Prensa Latina and Telesur, based on statements made by the Cuban president on his social media and during an extraordinary plenary session of the Communist Party of Cuba, held in the capital.

Through his official account on the social network X, Díaz-Canel shared and endorsed the Declaration of the Revolutionary Government rejecting the executive order of the President of the United States, Donald Trump, who, under the pretext of a supposed national emergency, intends to block oil trade with Cuba. For the Cuban leader, the initiative consolidates a dangerous form of conducting US foreign policy. "The Trump administration is consolidating a dangerous way of conducting the country's foreign policy through force and pursuing its ambitions to secure imperialist hegemony.", he wrote.

The president further denounced Washington for assuming prerogatives that do not belong to it in the international arena. "As announced, this country is claiming the right to dictate to sovereign states with which nations they can trade and from which they can export their national products," he stated. In another message, he reinforced the country's willingness to resist: "We will face this new attack with firmness, serenity, and the certainty that reason is absolutely on our side. The decision is clear: Homeland or Death! We will win!"

During the Extraordinary Plenary of the Communist Party of Cuba, Díaz-Canel spoke about the strategy to respond to external threats and aggressions, which he described as... fascist and genocidal natureHe criticized the claims, citing arguments he considers false. He reiterated that Cuba will not yield to the attempt to block fuel supplies and announced the launch of an international campaign to denounce what he called a "criminal act" by the US government."Even with a fuel blockade, Cuba will not be defeated by the empire."The president declared, emphasizing that the country maintains its peaceful vocation and its willingness to engage in dialogue. According to him, despite more than six decades of economic, commercial, and financial blockade, Cuba remains open to conversation with Washington, provided there is mutual respect. "The point is that dialogue cannot be conducted under pressure; it must be on equal terms, with respect, without preconditions," he said.

Díaz-Canel also highlighted that the sanctions policy affects not only Cuba, but limits the potential for exchange between the Cuban and American peoples. “We have nothing against the American people. On the contrary, as we have always said, the Cuban and American peoples are being deprived of much of their potential for cultural, research, scientific, sporting, and educational relations because of the restrictive policies imposed by the blockade on everyone,” he emphasized.

By broadening his criticism, the Cuban president placed the measure against the island within a broader pattern of imperial conduct, which, according to him, also manifests itself in relation to Greenland and Iran. In this context, he defined the so-called Trump Doctrine as "a criminal policy of contempt aimed at dominating the world".

In his conclusion, Díaz-Canel called on the population to fight, create, transform, combat, and share the results, reaffirming that the country will not be intimidated. "We will not be intimidated, and we are certain that we will not be alone in the face of this aggression from the United States," he stated, reiterating his commitment to defending the homeland, the Revolution, and socialism.

The pronouncements by the president and the Revolutionary Government respond directly to the executive order issued on January 29, considered by Havana to be an extreme expansion of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade, as it attempts to interrupt one of the country's most vital supply lines through the coercion of third-party states.
