Cristina Kirchner is banned from entering the US and criticizes the Miles-Trump alliance.
Former Argentine president criticizes US sanctions, mocks Javier Milei, and cites scandals involving Trump and cryptocurrencies in response.
C5N - Former Argentine President Cristina Kirchner responded harshly to Donald Trump after the United States government announced on Friday (21) that it would ban her from entering the country, an action celebrated by Javier Milei, who also received a strong response.
"You alone are not enough gas... neither in the economy nor in politics. That's why you go asking for help from the International Monetary Fund and Trump... Milei is very perceptive," she fired off in a long message on the social network X, after assuring that the measure ordered by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio responds to a request from President Javier Milei. "You couldn't contain yourself and immediately went to post, leaving all the fingers marked," she noted.
Rubio announced this Friday (21) that he will sanction the former Argentine president and her children, arguing that they "abused their positions by orchestrating and financially benefiting from multiple bribery schemes related to public works contracts, which resulted in the theft of millions of dollars from the Argentine government". Upon learning of this new decision, President Javier Milei shared the announcement on his social media accounts along with the caption: "Che Cristina, END".
"Is it because of a cryptocurrency scam? Because, in fact, I haven't committed any cryptocurrency scam in the United States or anywhere else. And neither has my daughter. Did my son sexually assault a journalist or writer in the most expensive store in New York? Or bribe an American prostitute to keep secret that he had hired her services because it would harm his campaign? Neither... Neither," stated the former president, referring to the accusations against the tycoon and some members of his family, as well as the controversy surrounding $LIBRA, the cryptocurrency scam in which the Argentine head of state was involved.
She also brought up the Cambiemos government and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan: "It seems to me that the truth must be that he still hasn't digested the fact that, in 2019, after ordering the IMF to give 45 billion dollars to his friend Mauricio Macri to help him in his presidential reelection campaign, we won those elections."
"And now? Are they going to give the president of the cryptocurrency coup another US$20 billion? Remember: he won't be re-elected either," he declared, referring to the future of the current libertarian administration after it reached a new agreement with the international organization. "In my neighborhood, they call this 'wasting gunpowder on chimangos'. The problem is that their government makes all the Argentine people pay for it," he added.
She then stated that Javier Milei is "hurt" by her words and, ironically, called him an "economist specializing in growth with or without money... and in cryptocurrency scams." Finally, she referred to the upcoming March 24th, the Day of Truth, Remembrance, and Justice, and called on "everyone to march," since "Videla and Massera were never banned from entering the United States."
